Voronin keen to emulate Berbatov

Liverpool - Andriy VoroninNew Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin is looking to have the same impact on the Premiership as what Dimitar Berbatov had for Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Voronin played with Berbatov during their time together at Bayer Leverkusen and the Ukrainian international insists that he has not moved to Anfield just to make up the numbers in Rafa Benitez’s squad.

Mourinho: Liverpool under pressure

Liverpool - Rafa BenitezJose Mourinho believes that Rafa Benitez is under real pressure to deliver the Premiership title for Liverpool.

The Reds have not won the title in 17 years and Mourinho feels that Liverpool have no excuse if the fail to win the Premiership this season, after spending around £40million during the summer transfer window.

Fergie: Heinze will not join Liverpool

ManUtd - Gabriel HeinzeManchester United are investigating whether Liverpool made an illegal approach for Gabriel Heinze.

The Argentina defender wants to leave Old Trafford and has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, although Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that he will not sell to their fierce rivals.

“Gabriel Heinze will not be joining Liverpool,” Ferguson said.

The Liverpool legend is looking for a new club after being released by Liverpool at the end of last season.

Fowler, 32, has been the subject of interest from Major League Soccer as well as Cardiff City and Leicester City.

Crouch told of Liverpool future

Liverpool - Peter CrouchPeter Crouch has been given a reassurance by Rafa Benitez that he has a future at Liverpool.

The beanpole England international’s future at Anfield had been the subject of some speculation, so Crouch met with Benitez to ask him about his future, which Benitez was shocked at.

You can’t blame Crouch for asking, following the signings of Ryan Babel, Fernando Torres and Andrei Voronin along with Dirk Kuyt already at the club.
